The risks and constraints at certain workstations require the use of safety helmets
On workstations at risk, all measures and precautions to protect workers must be planned in advance. Every worker has the right to be protected, to be safe and above all to be comfortable at his workstation. But sometimes, some safety measures implemented are not enough to protect workers, employers are obliged to take other precautions and acquire other personal protective equipment such as safety helmets to protect, on a daily basis, their employees from possible accidents.
THE WEARING OF SAFETY HELMETS IS COMPULSORY WHEN WORKING ON RISKY JOBS
In some cases, such as work on construction sites, in mines or in large factories, workers are confronted with high work risks; slips, falls, etc. can happen at any time in these risky places. That is why wearing safety helmets is mandatory. There is a wide range of personal protective equipment. Employers are obliged to evaluate the risks incurred by their employees, the nature of the work to be done, the possibility of impact from lateral or frontal objects, etc., and to propose the right equipment, such as a safety helmet.
THE DIFFERENT MODELS OF SAFETY HELMETS
Safety helmets are chosen according to the risks involved. There are several models of safety helmets on the market today. They differ from each other in their shape, the materials used and, above all, in their protective accessories. In metallurgy, for example, employees are exposed to molten metal projections. The safety helmet model recommended for these work areas is the high-performance model capable of resisting high temperatures and especially molten metal. For each field of activity at risk, adequate helmets are available on the market.
